Polkadoodles Halloween Wreath

Hi everyone!

It’s Digi Choosday time again, and this week’s theme is Halloween Party! 🎃👻

For my project this week, I decided to make something a little different and created a Halloween wreath.

I printed the 40 Cute Autumn Fall Clipart Bundle pre-coloured digital download and then cut all the images out using my ScanNCut machine. I attached the images to a simple wicker wreath (from the Works) and added some battery fairy lights (also from The Works) to give it a little extra sparkle. ✨

For the sentiments, I used designs from the Hello Autumn Greetings collection. I printed them out and attached them to a selection of punched circles before adding them to the wreath.

I finished off my wreath by adding some fake greenery (although the brown berries look like Maltesers!!) and a  couple of velvet ribbon bows.

I’m really pleased with how it turned out, and it was lovely to make something a little different from my usual cards.

Brother ScanNCut Machine video

Hi everyone!

Something a little different from me today! I thought it would be fun to share a little behind-the-scenes look at how I made this card using my ScanNCut machine.

I used the Polkadoodles Snowman Christmas Bear image, and I've put together a few short videos to show you how I cut out the images and created the coloured borders.

In the first video, you can see my ScanNCut in action, cutting out the images. I've sped the video up slightly so you don't have to watch it all in real time!

In the next two videos, I show you how I increased the border size around the images using my ScanNCut. I then reloaded the cutting mat with brown paper and, in the following video, mint green paper to cut out the borders.

I wasn't sure which colour would look best on my card, so I decided to cut out both and see how they looked!

As you can see in the photo below, I've mounted the image onto the cut-out borders. I think this really helps the cute little bear stand out and gives the image a lovely finish.

Rudolph Days Challenge - Guest Designer!!

Hi everyone!

I am absolutely honored to be a guest designer over at Helen's Rudolph Days Challenge and here is my card:

For my card, I used the adorable pre-coloured Polkadoodles Snowman Bella Christmas Bear image. I printed the image and cut it out using my ScanNCut, adding a border around the image to help it stand out against the background.

I created a wintery scene using a stitched circle die and plain circle dies for the background, along with a pretty Christmas tree cut from a Dee's Distinctively die. I added some foliage using the Polkadoodles Christmas Cracker die and finished the scene with a little picket fence using a La-La Land die.

To add some extra detail, I used stitched wavy line dies to create the snowy ground and added glitter and snowflake embellishments for a touch of sparkle. I also used my sewing machine to stitch around the edges of the card.

I finished everything off with a Polkadoodles Christmas sentiment, some pearls and gems, and a little twine bow.

I really enjoyed creating this little Christmas scene and hope you like it too!

as you like it challenge -favourite-fabric-embellishment? - My favourite fabric embellishment has to be ribbon! 🎀 I think it adds such an elegant finishing touch to a handmade card. Although I’ve used twine on this card as I felt it suited the design better, I always think ribbon brings a little extra elegance and prettiness to a card. 💗

Polkadoodles Pretty Shutter Window Die Card and Video

Hi everyone!

I've been experimenting with some cosy little room scenes to go with my Polkadoodles Pretty Shutter Window die. I wanted to create the feeling of peeking through a window into a warm, welcoming home, with little details that bring each scene to life.

I had a particular look in mind and enjoyed exploring different layouts and details until I was happy with the results. I think this die has so many possibilities, and I'm looking forward to using it in more of my cardmaking projects.

Polkadoodles Halloween Cake Toppers

Hi there, crafty friends!

It’s time for another Digi Chooday Challenge, and today’s theme is Halloween Party. 🎃👻

For my project, I decided to make some fun Halloween cake toppers.

I chose to use Fox Ghost, Bear Dracula,  Cute Ghost and Hedgehog Pumpkin, all of which are pre-coloured images, so they were really quick and easy to use. I also added some of the lovely sentiments from the Halloween Trick or Treat Greetings.

After printing and cutting out the images, I used various circle dies to cut them into neat circles. I then attached each one to a cocktail stick and finished them off with a little ribbon.

They would be perfect for adding a fun Halloween touch to cupcakes or a party table! 🧁🎃

The Gruffies and Happy Hoppers Stepper Card and video!

Good afternoon crafty friends! Something a little different for today - I have a little video to share 📹

Here is a little video of my Scan N Cut machine cutting out my stepper card sped up slightly.

This machine is so clever that it actually scores and cuts out images! It is brilliant for decoupage images and gets into places that my scissors can't!!

Polkadoodles Santa Snowman gift

Hi crafty friends, it's time for my Digi Chooday design team card and today's theme is Christmas:

For my card, I used the Santa Snowman pre-coloured image and decorated it with Stickles to add a lovely touch of sparkle. I then used the gorgeous Merry Christmas Greetings Circle Wreath Die to frame the image.

I mounted this onto some light blue card which I had embossed using a snow embossing folder, adding a lovely snowy texture to the background.

To finish my card, I added some pretty gems, a Poinsettia die and some corner punches, which completed my festive design.
