Spring Feast

Good morning all.

The sun is shinning here in Devon 'at the moment' so let's hope spring is on it's way. My daffodils have popped open so that's a good sign. Doesn't it make you feel so much better when the sun is out?!
It 'almost' gets me in the mood to do some spring cleaning!

Today's card is for my nan's birthday who is a leap year baby and will be 94 years old:

Items used:
Penny Black 'Gossamer' stamp
First Edition 'Spring Feast' papers
Computer generated sentiment
Stickles
Distress ink
Flowers and twine from stash

My criticism for today - a bit too heavy handed with the Distress ink on the sentiment!

This is another one of my Australian stamps but I just know that it will be well loved.

So that's all folks - thanks for stopping by my blog and I hope you have a fab day. TTFN.

Thank you for caring

Good evening lovely blog people!

I hope that you have had a good day. I have had the week off work and I can't believe how quickly it has gone - typical!  Why is that when you work it drags and have the week off and it flies by :(

Anyway here is today's share:

Items used:
The Hobby House 'Silver Fairy' PRE COLOURED image
Henbury Lane papers
Pink Petticoat sentiment
Stampin Up word punches
Flower Soft
Glamour Dust
Flowers, gems and lace from stash

I have cheated with a pre coloured image but jazzed it up with glitter and Flower Soft.
I do feel more comfortable with a card when I can pile it all on rather than a clean and simple look where I always think that something is missing!

Hope you like my card and thank you for stopping by - TTFN.

Hello everyone.

Hope you are well and the weather has been better for you.

Today's card is for Mrs A's new butterfly challenge  where the theme is 'butterflies and flowers'. Now I would have entered this challenge earlier in the week had I read the theme properly. I missed the 'flowers' bit and took pictures of my card ready to link and realised that I hadn't used any flowers so I then added some and here it is:
( note to self....pay more attention to reading theme's in future! )

Belated Valentines card!

Happy Saturday all. I hope that your weekend has got off to a good start and you had a happy valentines day yesterday!

The weather is very mixed today with lovely sunshine and pesky showers! At least the wind has died down a bit as last night it was ferocious.

I have two posts today as I might not have enough time to post tomorrow. It is my father in laws birthday on Tuesday so he's coming around for a roast tomorrow with my sister in law.
We all had a very scary experience this past week as my father in law had a cataract operation on Tuesday and seemed fine at first but after a while he had terrible hallucinations. Hubby rang the doctors to be told this sometimes happens. Which would have been nice to be told this beforehand but all is well now thankfully.

Anyway on to today's share:

Items used:
Penny Black stamp 'Hook, line and sinker'
LOTV 'Bear necessities' papers
ProMarkers
Nellie Snellen and Xcut circle dies
LOTV sentiment
Stampin Up word punch

I am beginning to think that I should rename my blog the Penny Black Glossy Accents and glitter blog!
I picked my papers before I coloured today so it was much easier - so no moaning!

I'll pop back in a bit with another card TTFN.

Sun dried

Good evening all.

Hope you have had a good day.

I stamped and coloured today's card then tried to match it up with a background paper. After going through my entire stash I went with this one but I'm not completely happy with it. Some days things just don't go right do they! Deciding on papers and layouts seem to take the longest time even when I follow a sketch!!  Any how here it is:

Items used:
Penny Black 'Sun dried'
ProMarkers
Melissa Frances 'Kitschy kitchen' paper
Pink Petticoat sentiment
Stampin Up word punches
Tonic flower punch
Sequins and clothes label from stash!

So that's me for today, hopefully I won't whinge about my next card!!  TTFN.

The million dollar stamp!!

Hi there all.

Happy Friday to you!

The reason for my blog title- are you sitting comfortably?!
I first saw today's stamp on the lovely Jules' blog a LONG time ago and knew that I had to have it! But you would not believe the trouble that I have gone to to get it. As it is out of production now I first tried to search the craft shops in the U.K - with no luck. Then finally I saw one and ordered it to be told that it was out of stock ( a bit naughty still advertising it ) so the search continued. Eventually I decided enough was enough and purchased one from a craft shop in wait for it .........Australia!!!!
Well it was for my birthday so I treated myself, the only downside was that I had to pay £12.75 customs/postal charges - eek!
Oh well I have it now and love it:

I just know that I will be using it a lot as you can use up all those snippets of paper with it. I also think that I'd better get my money's worth!

Items used:
Penny Black 'Whispers 3377K'
Tonic papers
ProMarkers
Stickles
Pink Petticoat sentiment
Ribbon, button and twine from stash

So that's the end of my story, am I the only one who has gone to these lengths to have a stamp??!
and if there is anyone out there who has got one of these stamps for sale I'd prefer if you keep this information to yourself!! LOL!

I hope that you have a lovely weekend and thanks for stopping by my blog today --TTFN.

Challenges:
Sketch Saturday  'follow the sketch'  ( 4 hours left )
Papertake Weekly  'anything goes with optional extra of shaped card'  ( 3 days left )

Caroling Duck!

Hi there blog friends.

I have been absent for a few days with sore throat and now a cold so haven't felt like crafting :(

However I have had a fabulous weekend - yesterday I went to Exeter WestPoint craft show which was fabulous! Jenny Mayes from Hobby Art was there. I first saw Jenny on Create and Craft along time ago and then I saw her at Japonica craft shop in Exmouth. Her stamps are fabulous and she is so enthusiastic, talented and very helpful. So I bought some of her new stamp sets which I'm sure you will see shortly.
Inkylicious was also there so I bought some more of those stamps and will have another go at using their ink dusters, so watch this space!
It is brilliant for inspiration going to a craft show but also frustrating when they make it look so easy!

Today I went out for lunch with hubby and youngest son for a triple celebration - mine and hubbies birthdays are in January and we also celebrated my youngest son getting his English language exam results - A STAR!!!!!   Super proud of him and now he doesn't have to resit that exam in the future as you can't get any higher than that!
