Sping and a Sketch

Good afternoon and what a glorious one it is.

I am just deciding whether to do some gardening or make some cards mmmm...I might get to do both if I get a move on.
When hubby came home from work yesterday and pottered in the garden the chickens were taking the weeds out of his bucket as fast as he was putting them in!

Today's card is for Little Claire's Designs and it is 'Spring and a Sketch' (17 days left).
I hope that my bee doesn't look drunk as it looks like he should be tilted over a bit but couldn't fit him in - he looks happy enough though!

Inside the card:

Hope your day is sunny and bright!

Cherry Jubilee

Hello blog world!

It is quite sunny here in Devon but still very cold. At least I will hopefully get my washing dry on the line today. A quick post and on with the hoovering, polishing, ironing etc......... I hate housework but love the feeling of a nice clean house so I suppose it's all worth it in the end.

Here is a card that I made for Sketch Saturday  (follow the sketch- 4 days left)

As you might have guessed by now that two of my favourite things are Penny Black stamps and Glossy Accents!

Hope that it's sunny where ever you are.

With or without Glossy Accents?

Good afternoon and hope you're having a happy Sunday!

I couldn't decide whether to add Glossy Accents to today's card so I thought that I'd take a picture before and after:

I think it's better with!

Items used:
Glossy Accents!,  Stampin Up - Best Dad Ever stamp set,  Versacolor 505 icicle ink pad - it has 5 colours so I kept within the lines of ink to get the different coloured ties. It was quite tricky but I thought it was quite a good idea!

I made a few cards today so that I can post them over the next couple of days - very organised for me!
Oh yes I almost forgot I was sooo excited to see that I won a Simon Says Challenge for my Paris card - Fantastique!    I will have no trouble in spending my voucher.

Make a wish

Good evening. A late one for me tonight.

The Penny Black image that I used for tonight's card is one of my favourites. The thing that I don't understand is why it's called 'Cheesecake' wish! Weird.
The paper is Docrafts Henbury Lane and sentiment is Pink petticoat.
Anyway here it is:

I had a delivery of lovely Stampin Up goodies today and can't wait to get stuck in!

Hope you are all well.   Ta ta for now.

Good evening.

Firstly I'd like you to meet my new chickens Blossom and Buttercup.
They are a bit camera shy.

They are still getting chased around but I'm hoping that they will soon settle down.

Next for tonight's card.

I'm back!!

Hello all.

I have been absent from the blog world for a while as I have had the flu - yuk!  Also the last few days I have been other wise engaged - chicken refereeing!!  I will explain, my two chickens are two and a half years old so are not laying as many eggs now and I decided after much thought to get two more. The trouble is it is very stressful to introduce new chickens as the 'pecking order' has to be confirmed. I hate seeing the new ones being chased and pecked so I probably shouldn't but I intervene and split up any scuffles!

I had a lovely surprise return to blogging as I found out that I won a prize of 7 free digi stamps from Bugaboo for entering my Tilda card at ABC Challenges. Fabulous! The only trouble was deciding which images to choose - decision making is not my strong point!

For today's card

Challenges:
less is more   One layer card - Film.  Mine is Cinderella
sweet stampin challenge  Pastels

I used Hero Arts stamps, pro markers and glossy accents with glamour dust.

So that's it - hope the card isn't too plain, I still struggle with CAS.

Floral Fantasies card entry

Good morning.

Today's card I would like to enter into Floral Fantasies celebration blog entry. It's Brenda's fourth Bloggaversary and she is fast approaching 4,000 followers!  WOW.
I have taken inspiration from her header on her blog.

I have used a mishmash of stamps - Hero Arts, Hobby Art and Art Impressions. Good old Glossy Accents and Stampin Up butterfly die.

Welcome to Floral Fantasies    I was supposed to add this logo to the sidebar of my blog but I don't know how!   Any help would be appreciated.

Must dash as I'm off out for the day with hubby and youngest son (eldest has to work)

Baking with bananas!

Good morning blog people.

When I first started my blog I said that I would share some baking with you but my hubby is on a diet so it wouldn't really be fair for me to bake fattening cakes etc.
But here is my banana bread which is from a very old Mothercare Healthy Eating book so it's not too bad!

If anyone wants the recipe just leave me a comment and I'll either email it to you or post it on my next post.

Another way to use up over ripe bananas is a recipe from Gino d'acampo:

Very Easy Banana Ice cream
Simply chop up bananas (approx 4) place on a tray and pop it into the freezer. When frozen blitz in food processor until smooth. I added about a tablespoon of cream but you don't have to.  YUM!

Finally some exciting news for me I have just found out that I have won a Penny Black image card for penny Black at Allsorts competition - how fab is that!

I must go now and blitz my frozen bananas!

Very minimal!

Good morning!

I have had a little play with my new Stampin Up stamps and made some very minimal cards.
It was so nice to make quick cards - instant gratification!!  I just hope that they are not too sparse.

Once I made one I was on a roll:

I also added some patterned paper to the inside of the cards, for this I was inspired by Jen Nelson from The Tiny Blue Butterfly. She is super talented and the inside of her cards look as brilliant as the outside.

It is a beautiful day here in Devon so I think after my ironing (groan) I will enjoy the sunshine with the chickens!

Russian dolls

Hi there.

A weird shape for tonight's card as I am entering it into Little Claire's Designs challenge for cards with folds. I thought it would be ideal to combine it with Digistamp Boutique Russian dolls.

Don't ask me what I was doing with the layout of this card as I haven't got a clue!!
At least it stands up!

Winnie peeking out the window

Good evening bloggies!

This is Winnie from Stamping Bella stamps.

Quite pleased with how she turned out - I could have added to the layers with the window box or flowers but you have to stop somewhere!
The butterflies at the top were a free gift from Dies to Die for - when you but items they send free die cuts!  Which is jolly nice of them. Sadly I think that this is their last monthly challenge. :(

Hope you are all well

Welcome baby Archie

My nephews partner has just had a little baby boy and they have called him Archie - Congratulations to you both!

It's the same story because it is for someone special this card took me all afternoon!
I followed Sketch Saturday sketch but just couldn't seem to get it looking right. When I added 'Archie' I tried to make it look random because if I don't it's never straight but I think it doesn't look  random enough!! Also I tied to make the embossed bit look like a quilt cover but I'm not sure that it does.   Does anyone else beat themselves up or is it just me?!

I have just had a delivery from the lovely Lizy (Lizys house of cards) of Stampin Up goodies.
That is where the elephant is from. I can't wait to get stamping with the rest of my stash!

Must dash so little time and lots to stamp!
