Last minute snippet dash!

Happy Saturday everyone.

I will make this a quick post as I am very late to share my snippet make with Pixie's Crafty Workshop - Snippets Playground.  I hope that I don't get a late mark or even worse a telling off from Miss Di!!
Here is my share:

The paper is ages old from Lidl , sentiment from Pink Petticoat and the butterfly punch is Stampin Up.
I can't even remember where I got the pink borders from!

Hope you have a lovely weekend and the sun shines for you.

Tilda with Dalecarlia Coat

Hi there everyone.

I hope that you have had a lovely bank holiday Monday - the weather here in Devon has been gorgeous.

I have made a Tilda card today which has combined lots of challenges:

I took the photo late in the day so it's a bit dark and doesn't show all of the glitter but never mind!

Items used:
ProMarkers, Stickles, Tim Holtz distress ink, Henbury Lane paper, Pink Petticoat sentiment and flowers from The Ribbon Girl.

So  there is another Christmas card to add to my growing collection - I'm beginning to feel a bit smug!

Hope you are all well and happy!

Thanks for stopping by.

Wisteria Frame

Hello there,
for today's card I was inspired by two things.
Firstly I was watching Create and Craft TV today and saw the wonderful Wendy from Card-io  stamping with her peg stamps. I have quite a few of her stamp sets and watching her made me want to get mine out again. (I didn't use Card-io stamps for today's card but will be buying some of the sets which I saw today!)
Secondly I saw this card tutorial by the super talented Catherine Pooler and I wanted to give it a go but using different stamps. Anyway enough waffle here is what I came up with:

Please excuse the crease marks in the seam binding!
I hope that you like my card and that I haven't broken any rules by linking to the two sites - I hope that I didn't need to ask their permission first. Being fairly new to bloging  I'm not quite sure of  the correct terms and conditions!

I bought all of my Stampin Up items from Lizy and the peg stamps are ages old!

Take care

In the garden

Hello all,

I've made a retirement card today - not that I know of anyone who is retiring but I thought that it fitted the image:

I used a DigiStamp Boutique image and coloured with Promarkers. I then added Stickles and Glossy Accents. The sentiment is from Pink Petticoat and the rest is from my stash.

Due to my chickens you will not find many worms or snails in my garden but there are plenty of butterflies as I have huge lavender plants to attract them!

Hope that you like my card and thanks for stopping by - please feel free to leave a comment as I would love to read it!

Fall Foliage

Hi all.

Hope you are well and having some lovely sunshine.

Here is today's card:

I used a DigiStamp Boutique image and Spellbinders Fall Foliage dies for the leaves. (Excellent way to use scrap pieces of card). I did some fake stitching around the edge and used some nail heads. Hope that you can't notice that I scratched the pink heart by moving the heat wand!!

So that's it for today, thanks for stopping by and I hope you will be back!

Celebrating!

Happy Friday everyone.

WARNING............Sun glasses needed for today's card:

Ok you can take them off now!

This is Penny Black 'Celebrating' coloured with Promarkers and Glossy Accents. The  Pink Petticoat sentiment says 'Feel better soon' encase you can't see it because of the glare! The dies are both X Cut.

It has been a beautiful sunny day here in Devon after a gloomy start so that's worth 'Celebrating'!!

I think that a take-away is on the cards tonight so hope you have a lovely weekend and thanks for stopping by.

Cornflower Blue Snippets

Hello all.

My card today was inspired by this card by the lovely Jules.

Now obviously my card is nowhere near as good because Jules is THE goddess of card making and all round wonderful lady!
I know lots of people will agree with me on that.

So I'm off to share this card at Pixies Crafty Workshop and hope that they like it!

I used all snippets of paper and the sentiment was a freebie from a magazine. The cornflower die is by Tonic and the heart was a competition win from Jules.

This card took a little longer than I thought it would until I figured out how to cut and arrange the paper but I would like to try it in different colours next time.

Hope you all have a lovely evening.

So that's it for today I'm off to let the chickens have the run of the garden as they are moaning!

My first attempt at machine sewing

Hi there.

Here is my first attempt at machine sewing on a card:

Now all you expert sewers will notice that I have shown the reverse of the stitching (along the top and  bottom of the border).  This is because I used my nan's very old machine:

The tension is not quite right so it is a bit 'loopy' !  I think that I need to phone my expert sister to find out how to alter it.

I used a Tim Holtz die for the mannequin and a spellbinders die for the dress. The sewing paper I think is Papermania  and the  background papers were a real bargain from The Range at £1.99 called Wedding by Paper Cellar.

So I hope you like it and thanks for popping by.

Runner Bean Chutney

Good evening all.

Long time no blog again for me, there are no excuses I have just been very lazy!

A few day trips, gardening and just chilling.

No card today just a recipe for my mum's runner bean chutney. This is fab for using up a glut of beans if you grow your own or know someone who does!

4 lb Runner beans
4 lb Demerara sugar
8 large onions
3 tablespoons dry mustard
3 tablespoons Cornflour
3 tablespoons Turmeric
3 pints draft vinegar

Slice beans and boil until tender. Drain.
Boil onions in salted water, drain and chop.
Put beans and onions in a large saucepan and bring to the boil with 2 1/2 pints of vinegar and the sugar.
Boil for 15 mins.
Mix together the Turmeric, mustard and Cornflour in 1/2 pint vinegar. Add to the boiling mixture and boil for another 15 mins.
Cool slightly and pot.

Yummy with cold meats and in a cheese sarnie!

Not sure why the recipe says to boil the onions then chop them but I chopped first!

Hope to be back soon with a card.

Candy Shop

Good afternoon all.

It has been very wet here in Devon the last couple of days which has been a bit of a shock compared to the dry few weeks previous. Now it's back to the noisy tumble dryer :(

Ideal crafting weather though!
I made this card yesterday:

I used 'Candy Shop' sweet stamp from Creative Expressions and punched out the circles then covered them in cling film (to act as a wrapper). The jar die and stamp is by Whimsy Stamps and the sentiment is Pink Petticoat. The sweet shop awning is a Tim Holtz rosette die and the pink window frame was free with a magazine. Oh yes I also used acetate for the jar.
I was going to cover the sweets in my lovely Glossy Accents but decided it would take too long to dry so cling film was used instead!

So if you haven't dropped off with boredom that's it!

Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by

High Heels

Hi there.

Another sunny day here in Devon with a nice breeze which was just right for my day off work!
Also it's Friday wahoo!

I have made quite a simple card for me today:

I used:
Hero Arts 'High Heels', V & A paper and Darice embossing folder. I heat embossed the shoe and coloured it with a black ProMarker.
This was the inspiration picture from Less is More:

Now I know that I could never walk in those!  Give me a nice comfy pair of flats any day.

Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.
