Fall Foliage

Hi all.

Hope you are well and having some lovely sunshine.

Here is today's card:

I used a DigiStamp Boutique image and Spellbinders Fall Foliage dies for the leaves. (Excellent way to use scrap pieces of card). I did some fake stitching around the edge and used some nail heads. Hope that you can't notice that I scratched the pink heart by moving the heat wand!!

So that's it for today, thanks for stopping by and I hope you will be back!

  1. Hi there Eve - what a little cutie for the image and I love the leaves - brilliant idea for using snippets. You might like another die set coming up on offer soon as a Playground prize :)

I'm afraid I was really lazy and didn't mask the image before doing the clouds on my snippets card yesterday - bad girl that I am! With a very small 'mini' duster brush it's sort of OK, but when there's time I do like to mask, if you look closely you will notice that there's quite a bit of white round the seagull area 'cos I avoided him :)

Here's an image I used a mask for: http://pixiescraftyworkshop.blogspot.co.uk/2011/09/introducing-prancing-prickles.html - and I used Woodware Magi film for the mask. It's brilliant stuff and perfect for masking. Crafty Devils have it in stock - I just Googled to check stockists.

I love my hot wand and nail heads too - although I too have issues with scratching the little perishers at times. Mind you, I can't see any problem on the heart on your card. Generally I count slowly to 12 as the wand is on a nail head, so the glue melts but less chance of scratching. I use little 1" squares of white cotton handkerchief (pinched from Len) to cover the nail head before applying the wand - a square lasts for ages. And have used Pro Markers to colour any scratches that might result when I forget!

OK, information overload over - where's me apple then? :)

    Hugs, Di xx

  2. That is one seriously cute squirrel! I love the way you've used your snippets here too - fabulous! I have one of the old heat wands and crystal gems. I've never been able to make it work - the blooming glue on the crystals never melted so they didn't stick - not sure what I kept doing wrong lol. I've still got the crystals and must use them with my Cosmic Shimmer glue sometime hugs Karen
